  About me and my work.

I studied art - specializing in fashion and textiles in the late 60's, going on to teach in Inner London and later in Worcestershire - before eventually moving to Tuscany where I lived for 18 years.

Perhaps it was that early interest in textiles which eventually lead to a passion for using collage which now forms a large part of my work.

Of course, living in Italy, amongst the mountains and glorious seascapes, ancient hilltop villages and general Italian life as it has been lived for centuries is a wonderful source of inspiration !

I am also fascinated by the Outer Hebrides , and a visit there in 2017 produced many sketches and notes, leading to paintings of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Skye.

Many of my collages feature somewhere in the paintings, my little dog Leo - usually up to no good !! Children particularly enjoy trying to find him in the pictures !

If you have a favourite holiday memory, or just a love of a particular vista, I undertake commissions from photographs - if I can't actually visit the site in person !

If you particularly like any of the paintings you see here that have been sold, I can paint it again for you, although there will obviously be slight differences.
